Formerly known as Gay Head Cliffs, Aquinnah Cliffs feature clay of an amazing mixture of red, orange and gold hues that make a truly spectacular sight at sunrise and sunset. The cliffs provide magnificent coastal views of the Elizabeth Islands and Atlantic Ocean. Declared a National Historic Landmark, the Aquinnah Cliffs also offer some unique Wampanoag Indian handicraft stores and several quality restaurants.

Just a short walk around the headland from Aquinnah Cliffs, Aquinnah Lighthouse, previously Gay Head Lighthouse, is a soaring column of white steel built to protect ships from the deadly Devil's Bridge shoals. The lighthouse offers some stunning views, and together with the Aquinnah Cliffs, forms Martha's Vineyards most popular tourist attraction.

Standing guard above the busy Oak Bluffs harbor, the 70-foot / 21-meter tall East Chop Lighthouse is visible to all who arrive at Martha's Vineyard by ferry. The bluff itself is almost a hundred feet high, making the view from the top of the lighthouse nothing short of magnificent. Built in 1876, the lighthouse is only open for sunset viewers, and provides one of the most romantic of all vistas on the island.
